It leads wonderfully into the lead single, ‘Dang!’ and Anderson.Paak’s familiar soulful rasp pleading “I can’t keep on losing you over complications.” The soul beat behind the song compliments both the vocal styles of Anderson.Paak and Mac Miller. Opener ‘Congratulations’ features a simple piano underscoring Miller’s reminiscing about a particular lover until the outro featuring Bilal’s distinct croon. It’s clear that this album is designed as the background music for gettin’ freaky. There’s nothing mind-blowing about the style employed, but to its credit every sound on this album is easy to listen to. The album transitions like a mixtape, one song leading perfectly into the next. Mac’s easy-going vocal style blends nicely with the smooth jazz production throughout the album.
